We were in town for a funeral. Didn't know anything about the city or what was good. Our hotel was next to the Whole Hog Cafe, so we walked over for dinner. They were out of pork and chicken!!!!! A bbq place was out of pork and chicken!!!! It was early dinner time too (a little past 6:00), so this was unbelievable. From there, we left and googled where else served BBQ and we stumbled upon Bubba's. Being from Memphis, we know a thing or two about good BBQ, and Bubba's far exceeded our expectations in every way!
The owner was as friendly and nice as he could be. He told us how he started the restaurant, what was good, what was better, and gave us several recommendations and samples to try. There were 4 people in our party so we all got something different to experience all of the flavors Bubba's had to offer. Every. Single. Thing. Was mouth-watering. The pulled pork, the bbq nachos, the smoked sausage, the chicken. All was delicious!
The owner also makes and bottles his own whiskey and sells it in the restaurant, along with his sauces. He let us taste the whiskey and we were sold. Bought a bottle before we left.
Whether you live in Springfield or are visiting from out of town, RUN, don't walk, to Bubba's. You will NOT be dissappointed. -

There are lots of bbq place in Springfield and this one is one of the more unassuming and laid back version.
It's in a little strip mall, next to a Waffle House. It's decorated in a cute, homey, comfortable way (according to my wife) and the service was friendly and helpful.
My wife's burnt ends and brisket were tender and juicy and my wings were meaty and perfectly cooked.
Bbq is never cheap but I dont mind paying when the food is good and this plve is excellent!
One star lost because his entire place only has ONE bathroom for each gender. -

This place has good BBQ to eat! It's clean on the inside, reminds me a lot of Texas Roadhouse/Logan's roadhouse style. A true country style!
Unfortunate the waitress we had (who I don't know her name but she's chunky with blonde ringlets around her hair) has terrible customer service lol. She seemed impatient and annoyed at the fact that we were taking a while to order drinks and food. When we finally ordered and gave us the receipt to sign there was no pen and she threw it on the counter towards us. I would like to think she had a "bad day" but she was giggling with a customer earlier at the bar so I'm sure that's not it. I would've rated this place 5 star but that waitress just really seemed really annoyed at us. She didn't make us feel welcome. I thought that's what MO was all about hospitality. Unfortunate I won't be coming back. -

Had a great lunch at an old college friends Bbq joint! Cool vibe, friendly staff.Food came out quickly, fresh & hot! Plus the restaurant itself was very clean!
The sausage was good. Burnt ends could not be more tender or flavorful. Nice smoked flavor throughout. But the baby back ribs were AMAZING!!!! I cut the rib meat with a plastic fork! They were so tender, but not overcooked! The sides were all great too! Very well done, Bubba! -
